So a number of tracks of the more funky variety dropped into my iTunes library today and they were good! There seems to be a bit of a trend towards the traditional French House sound at the moment, not only from the likes of Nicolas Vallée, Hey Champ DJs, Empire Of The Sun and Chili Hifly who are all the main feature of this post but also new material slowly filtering in from the likes of the genius Les Rythms Digitales and also the hugely tipped and very quickly emerging Louis La Roché (New album arriving 2009).

Cutting up lots of disco hits, both new and old, digging deep for those rare grooves and slicing and dicing those familiar samples seems once again to be apart of todays House Music scene. Arguably of course, a large number of people will never say it disappeared, which is very true; but in the last three or four years the emergence of the likes of Ed Banger and German artists such as Boys Noize has seen a more aggressive Electro approach to our House music; and very popular it has been too.

We’re looking forward to seeing what other new talents surface in the not so distant future and hope that perhaps traditional French House can fully immerse itself within 21st Century production techniques and relive some of the glory days which saw artists such as Bob Sinclar, Super Discount and Motorbass thrive.
