Fraz, a Sydney local, has put together this exclusive for Mnuvrs so we want to give him some lovin’!

Fraz set out to offer something old in a new way. Where others may throw in a couple of gems during a set to get the crowd going, he could see no reason why you can’t give the people what they want, all the time.

With a love of all things dirty, retro and popular his sets offer more cheese than a Swiss fondue convention but when interspersed with driving electro basslines, the odd airhorn and of course some Baltimore shakers, it’s hard not to get carried away in a hazy personal orgy of nostalgia and indulgence. 2009 will see Fraz delving more into production, bringing a similar level of blatant disrespect for the popular classics to a string of mash-ups and remixes in order to get hands up…and to keep them there.

So keep an eye out for more golden goodness from Fraz in 2009!

So we have just been sent this cheeky little edit of LA ROUX’s epic track: IN FOR THE KILL. A massive hit here with the Mnuvrs team we have enjoyed most of the remixes and edits we have heard by the likes of SKREAM and HOSTAGE. However this version again adds another twist to this track which is blowing up everywhere. Louis Phillipe has jumped on board and added his simple but effective ideas into the mixer with his D’n'B edit. Good work dude. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Here we are, another week another Hot 10. But once again we are stumped to find ten tracks again this week that have inspired us and impressed enough to make the infamous list. So once again we are dropping short of the target ten and settling for a higher quality 8. However, we may have cheated a little, the absolutely brilliant track by LA ROUX, IN FOR THE KILL (SKREAMS LETS GET RAVEY REMIX) has made it into our Hot 10 once again and is the first track ever to have done so in the Mnuvrs Hot 10 feature, testament to the quality of the track we feel.

This week also shows how much we are enjoying the SWEAT IT OUT label at the moment with the inclusion of their two brilliant mixes: Raver Lovin (Yolanda Be Cool Remix) – Edu K and The Flash (Scuola Furano Remix) – Act Yo Age.

Well what an crap weekend for us and anyone else using the Media Temple hosting service right?! We have been down for the last 2 days (or there abouts) and have been unable to do anything about it. So we are very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you havent missed us too much.

On the plus side, we have another wicked Mnuvrs Mixtape to drop for you this week as well, of course, this weeks, HOT 10. Well thats a bit of a lie in itself really. In order to maintain the credibility and integrity of this feature we only post those tunes that have really had us tapping our feet and reching for the lasers, and due to that very reason we only have 7 tracks for you this week…

But by god they are awesome. What we lack in quantity this week we certainly make up for in quality. The last week has seen some absolutely stunning remixes of LA ROUX’s track: IN FOR THE KILL, by the likes of SKREAM and HOSTAGE. But it is SKREAMS, epic, astronomical LETS GET RAVEY version which wins our vote out of the two, due to its sublime simplicity.

We have also witnessed this week a little return for one top producers in the world right now: SHINICHI OSAWA with his also rave-tastic version of CAZALS tune, POOR INNOCENT BOYS. With a bassline reminisent of that 90′s monster HUMAN RESOURCE, DOMINATOR this track is most definately gonna be driving some of those Indie Dance hipsters insane.

We are also especially pleased at the efforts coming from A1 BASSLINE right now. Their track LUCKY CHARMS and GIRL THING (SCOTT COOPER REMIX) have both been tickling the darker sides of our inetrest in bass with their pulsating basslines and hard hitting kicks.
