So browsing through my “Never Listened To” playlist the other day i came across a series of remixes of this track: “I’m Going For Your Brother – Blänk” so i gave them a little listen. There was one stand out track from the group, a remix by Waa!Fi!. Waa!Fi! is from Oslo, Norway and we know very little about him. As far as we know this is the only tune he has produced so far but we have been really enjoying it. Pounding beats and and a whirring base line which reminded me of some of Sirisumo’s work of recent. A hypnotic melody tops this off and had me hitting the repeat button on a number of ocassions. [Read more]

The young master that is, FELIX CARTAL has just launched his new website over at felixcartal.com. There is an interesting post over there at the moment about the setup he uses for his production work. Just goes to show you dont need the best/most expensive gear to make some hot tunes. PAAOOOWW!! Here’s something I came across when looking to get some sweet white Serato blank vinyl. Known for their innovative, industry changing and music aspiring products, Rane Serato have gone full circle once more! Along with the Serato Blank Vinyl, they are now pressing selected artists onto the A-Side and using their B-Sides as their Tone Vinyl.  A nice adage to their product offering. [Read more]

Scouring the net the other morning i came across this lovely little sketch by James Zabiela. I get the distinct impression from this that he is either baffled by his own set-up and uses the image to speed things up, or he has worked with some very shoddy engineers in the past who have struggled to comprehend the gear he uses, resulting in everything not quite working as expected.

Anyway, this has made me wonder what everyone else’s DJ setups look like. Either email us with your own sketch or more simply drop us a comment with a link to a photo or image of some sort. Perhaps we could get some cool little gallery going…all depending on user participation of course.
