So the lineup for Bestival has been announced. It seems a whole lifetime away right now doesnt it, but if last year is anything to go by then the time will once again, fly by, quite uncontrollably. Bring it on.

About the festival:

OUTLOOK FESTIVAL CROATIA
THURSDAY 2ND– SUNDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2010 – FORT PUNTA CHRISTO, PULA

The largest dubstep and soundsystem culture festival in europe, featuring the biggest names from the most vibrant and cutting edge dance scenes around. This year’s line up includes some of the best names in soundsystem culture from the worlds of dub & dubstep, reggae, dancehall, drum and bass, hip-hop, roots, soul and dancefloor beats.

Outlook launched in 2008 to sold out crowds and critical acclaim in petrcane, a rustic little fishing village on the croatian coast. In 2009 we took over a beach front superclub in novalja on the island of pag. The festival was bigger and better than the first, but we have continued our search to bring you an even more spectacular festival location.

2010 sees us in what can only be described as the most amazing festival location ever imagined. Punta christo is an abandoned fort, built in the eighteen hundreds that looks like something from a lost world, located on a peninsula with the sea all around for the legendary boat parties, there is a now also a private beach for all day sun soaked raving but when the sun goes down this venue will come into its own – please see the photo’s on the website or facebook page for further information.

Boom! Ear-plugs ready! So, the last few weeks have been fairly busy. And last week was no different. MNUVRS covered a special night of Booty-Breakin’ Bavarian Bounce, with South Rakkas Crew and Munichs very own finest Schlachthof Bronx. Lined with a wall of Subs any bass-scientist would be proud of, The Rote Sonne Club played host to Baile Funk, Jum Up, Crunk, Big Beat, Hop Hop all night. Big shouts to The Rotte Sonne Club bar-tenders…Keep those shots-a-coming.

Reppin’ with ‘Dow, who single handedly represented the South Rakkas due to mix-ups with passports at the airport, he laid down a fine set, spawling from dirty electro and bassline to old-school hip hop jams. And our boy Benny with his counterpart Jacob of Schlachthof Bronx provided the baile-funk, house, bass that they are known for, driving and ultimately forging Munich’s underground club scene. These guys are my hot tip for 2009. Schlachthof Bronx have been real busy in the studio, and Mnuvrs received a pre-release copy of their anticipated, but not yet named album! It’s a killer collection of creative, jump-up, fun, grimey, underground, fresh bass-beats with enough tropicana, reggae, baile-funk to get your teeth into. Due to licensing, we don’t have the permission to drop any track samplers yet, but we will as soon as we have the yes word! The offering of tracks definately received good measure so far from the reactions of the crowd, and is up there with the most refreshing house music around. 

Schlachthof Bronx have also agreed to put together a Mnuvrs Mixtape, which we are all very very excited about! Watch this Vault! You heard it, and saw it here first! 2009 looks to be Schlachthof Bronx’ year!

This is one not to take lightly, where Munich DJ Schlachtof has teared the roof down on many nights!

I know i know you’ve been desperate for some juicy Mnuvrs action but we havent quite provided recently. Well as you all know its been crazy mental the last couple of weeks what with Xmas and NYE especially, but we are back, fresher than ever and absolutely gagging to see what the new year has to bring us and you in the form of some quality aural pleasure.

But before we go on, we really must tell you about our NYE adventures here at Mnuvrs. We were fortunate enough to bag some last minute tickets to the London Bugged Out event @ Fire, London and what an absolutely titillating night it was too. Having never been to Fire we werent quite sure what to expect but this is simply a wicked club, confusing passages to easily get lost in, crazy rooms with wicked sound systems and the DJ’s on display were almost faultless. My only gripe being there was not enough bassline and too much generic (little bit boring) house about, nothing to really whip the crowd up i felt. But hey, everyones got their own preferences and opinions. Featured during the night was the likes of Erol Alkan, the sublime Surkin and the mental Brodinski, unfortunately i missed the two latter DJ’s but caught most of Erols set which was as you’d expect, electro fuelled and had the kids wetting themselves for more.

I managed to back a handful of quality photos during the night so enjoy. Would love to hear from anyone else who attended the event to hear opinions of what went on throughout that cold winters evening in London town.

So that was that! Congratulations to Bugged Out for an absolutely quality event!

So we’re all pretty excited here at Mnuvrs about what the New Year has in store. We have been chatting with some lovely websites about some affiliation action which may mean you get to literally hear a lot more from us here at Mnuvrs…more to come in the Spring about that and we also have some fanatstic new mixtapes coming up very shortly.

Aims this year include getting a regular Mnuvrs night off the ground but this is literally just in the brainstorming stage right now. However, if there is anyone out there in the Surrey, UK area who would be interested in hosting this event, playing at a Mnuvrs event or helping in any way then we would be more than happy to hear from you. Mixmags first tour in 8 years, so it had to be something special. A big lineup including the likes of Hervé, The Friendly Fires, Riton all played, and i tell you what, they didn’t disappoint.

The Egg, just a few minutes walk North of Kings Cross, is an intricate club with lots of winding stair wells and intimate rooms and a cracking venue for this event. A Funktion One soundsystem was specially bought in for this hyped up evening (i received about 8 Facebook messages, how many did everyone else get?) and the only thing that disappointed was the mass chaos which was trying to get into the club. It seemed that it was quicker to enter if you weren’t on a guest list, making a mockery of the process. With approximately 6 different queues to join there was more people confused than pissed.

However, once we managed to navigate our way inside the venue the partying started, we found ourselves in the main room immediately listening to a warm up DJ, who despite having a good selection of tunes, was a little less impressive on the actual mixing of them. However, the room erupted when Hervé came on a got in full swing, playing the usual bass heavy suspects; Sinden, Drop The Lime etc etc (I’m struggling to recall exact tracks due to the level of intoxicating liquids consumed).

So all in all a cracking evening. THANK YOU MIXMAG. And the overall consensus from Mnuvrs is: If you get the opportunity to hit this party in a city near you then do it! It’ll be a cracker.
