REX has just smashed it with another solid mix for our first 2010 entry into the MNUVRS VAULT! We have been eagerly awaiting new material from this fella and it has finally arrived in the form of this mix and a cheeky track too.  Rex’ latest mix proves the diverse nature and talent of one mans skills! Starting off, smoothly blending remixes from Zombie Disco Squad and Roska, the mix comprises Rex‘ love for Bassline, with the twisted bass remix from JACK BEATS, and the tropic feel of REX‘ last Mixtape “Tropical Riddm Mixtape” featured on Mixcloud, through to the Jump-Up, Ghetto Party, Bass-Step we have heard from him in the past! Surely tracks from Munich bavarian bouncers SCHLACHTHOFBRONX will get your feet itching to rave!

There are a few little gems thrown in with expected refixes, including an old-skool classic of ZINC’ – 128 Trek (Rex’ Go Home Refix)…plus an anticipated new track from REX entitled “Clipper”. With sliced up rhythmical percussion, a driving melody and some lovely spacey keys on the breakdown, this one will have you eager for more. Along with “Clipper”, REX closely works with another undisclosed secret agent, with their second release entitled “DREADLOCK DREAD” – download. This is an absolute banger! An old-skool dub-enfused killer, jump-up house track with a mental riff lying over the top! Their second solid track after their debut of “Oommph” in August 2009 also held presence, that brought the wobbling bass out to play!

REX currently resides in south Germany, as a Graphic Designer for PUMA. Within his area, REX is making more links to the local scenes too, featuring gigs for FUNKEIRO, 2DIGITAL and a future appearance for BASTARD POP SHOP (Currently featuring headliner act SCHLACHFOFBONX in March). MNUVRS will keep you all informed about  next moves and we can truly see positive things for REX and his fellow producer in 2010! BRING IT ON!

BOOM, its been a while, too long, some may say, but we are back again. After some troubling email issues, we finally reconnected, and were promtly flooded with over 400 emails with tracks, mixes, promo and all sorts…hopefully some will follow in the next few days.

Anyway, to kick of the festive season we have a smashing little 2 Step mix from our man in the big smoke (London, UK); MACKAVELI. Seemlessly blending some classic vocals and exceedingly sharp beats, Mackaveli has served up an absolute ace with this mixtape.

Hailing from Essex and beginning his love affair with 2 Step over 10 years ago Mackaveli has never looked back since. Growing up on the likes of EZ, Upfront FM and The Heartless Crew it was soon time for Mackaveli to invest in his own set of turntables to dive head first into a pool of 2 Step. Blending everything from up front 2 Step rhythms to 12″s from back when, Mackaveli is looking back through his record box of old to look bring us into to the future.

Featuring the likes of one of 2009’s biggest acts on the dance scene: ZOMBY as well as the likes of DUBCHILD, BEATFREAKS, the sublime HOT CITY and the french masters CASSIUS with their unforgettable anthem “Feeling for you”, this entry into the mixtape vault is a refreshing taste of everything 2 Step we love.

MACKAVELI can be found playing all over London at the moment and has featured in Room 3 of Fabric this Summer just gone. His next big show will feature on the 12th December at the brilliant HYP HYP HYP @ Plan B, London. Make sure you get stuck in for this one.

Well the Summer is drawing to an end and arguably in some people’s eyes is over. Kids are heading back to school and the University terms beckon. But we’re not quite done here at Mnuvrs. We believe there is one last chance to embrace the last of the good weather, the longer than average evenings and the Disco Beats that have been drowning our airwaves for the last 6 months. And thankfully THE C90S have come to our rescue.

A mixtape which begins in epic fashion utlising the Martin N edit of Stings classic Englishman in New York, this only sets the presidence for the tunes to come. Echoed vocals, excessive snare drums, sexy synths and funky basslines make this an entry to the Mnuvrs Mixtape Vault to remember. With a tracklist containing absolute Space Disco pleasure from the likes of the sublime Sebastian Tellier, Ray Parker Jr, Who Made Who as well as a man who has been utterly relentless this summer; Juan Maclean.

But thats not all. The mixtape provided by the C90s also contains the perfect showcase of their own unique work; Headman – Dirt (The C90s Remix) and their version of the epic Cut Copy – Hearts on Fire (The C90s Remix). Both tunes that could define the summer past for us here at Mnuvrs. This mix is simply brilliant in removing any sense of The End as far as the Summer is concerned and succeeds brilliantly in rekindling that party spirit. May the disco burn on.

Well Lady’s and Gentlemen, what a day…what with it now being AUGUST 18th: OFFICIAL MUSIC BLOGGER DAY, we have something very special to celebrate with. Our 19th (officially 18th) Mnuvrs Mixtape from none other, but KID606. A true legend:

“KID606 is dedicated to bringing his uniquely reckless fucked up and beautiful music to our fucked up and beautiful world. Insipired by the best of electronica, punk, jungle, hiphop, bass, dancehall and techno, Kid606 Fuses it all together with a love of pop culture that Andy Warhol would approve of. Apart from running the labels Tigerbeat6, Shockout, and Tigerbass, Kid606 has performed all around the world many times over, and released records on highly regarded labels such as Ipecac, Wichita, Mille Plateaux, Fatcat, Souljazz, and Carpark. His highly original productions helped spearhead and define the edgy and confrontational glitch and mashup styles that are now common in modern music production. Faultless mixing and fine tune selections always make a KID606 show an occassion to remember. Miguel (Kid606) does not dissapoint with his entry into the Mnuvrs Mixtape Vault either. A sublime blend of over 30 tracks featuring some of the hottest artists and acts about at the moment: Proxy, Mikix the Cat, Dolby Anol, Rusko, Doshy as well as material by the man himself this is certainly something special.

Currently signed to the wonderful guys over at Tigerbeat Records, Kid606 has been releasing some fine fine music this year and we hope it continues for the months to come. We would highly recommend the most recent KID606 release: “Shout at the Döner”
