Beginning the trip, we must add early on, that American Passport control is well…DIFFICULT! Held for an our and questioned over status and itineraries, we felt obliged to share the misfortune of such a welcome to the U.S…as we should all know by  now, those poxie video (Virals), which play throughout the passport control que’ delays, never really add up, and what-more, you’re greeted by the stern-face and short-attitude of “THE MAN”.

Having just left Boston MA, 10lbs heavier REX caught up with the best kept secret label and sponsor CREEP STREET, met-up wih Karmaloop and skate-store Boulevard, home of the BOPPO agenda. GO THERE NOW! Meanwhile, REX is literally on-route to NYC, on-board he funky MegaBus, accompanied by the flavors of DJ SMUTLEE‘ SMOOTH BASTARD Vol1.2.

Promoter, producer, blogger, label boss and most importantly DJ, Tuco has already had a career that most budding DJs would look at with envy. He started his career supporting Moloko in his native town of Reading before going on to promote some of the biggest parties in the south of England. He also spent some time jet setting around the world playing clubs from Tokyo and Sydney to Rio before finally settling in Prague. In a career spanning nearly 15 years Tuco has done it all, from sold out stadiums supporting the like of Wu Tang and Busta Rhymes to leftfield club gigs along side DJ Food, Dj Krush and DJ Shadow to straight out banging club gigs with Zombie Nation, Sinden and Alex Taylor (Hot Chip).

The Dutty Weekend club night he runs alongside Dj/Label partner DJ Quime has become a staple on the worldwide circuit of the hottest up and coming Djs and producers and now the launch of the Meanbucket record label sees Tuco’s first debut release dropping which has gained the support of Djs such as Solo (Dirty Bird), Malenete (Fools Gold), Beware & Motorpitch (Man Recordings) and more. With a heavy roster building Tuco and the label can finally cement themselves a well deserved place in the world of dance music.

As far as DJ sets go, Tuco has the skillz of a formidable Hip hop DJ along with the depth of some of the best house jocks worldwide! From House to Hip hop to Baile Funk and almost everything in-between, there is never a dull moment when this experienced DJ is behind the decks!

Benedict and Jacob have just released their debut album on Disko B – here’s your chance to remix one of the new tracks “Mad Instrument”!

1. You can either download stems and remix using your own software or work online with the Tracks & Fields sequencer….the choice is yours! And don’t forget you can form discussion groups with your fellow remixers to share inspiration, tech talk or anything else!

2. Publish your remix here. You are not allowed to publish/post your remix or the stems from this contest on any other site – you may only use Tracks& Fields widgets for this purpose. Any user found to be doing so will be disqualified from this contest.
