Ok ok so this is the second post about the Acid Girls in, well, a small number of hours. And i know this was available a few months ago but, i stumbled across a mix by Greg from the Acid Girls in my iTunes last night, and have since listened to the mix 3 times (since the post about the Acid Girls last night).

The mix: Live From the Celestial Megaclub Green Room, came as a bit of a surprise. It’s a seamless blend of some stunning tracks, some classics and some that you know you have heard but can’t quite work out where from. “The only way i can describe this mix is: Its like a mix of all the music you would get at the climax of a film when everything comes good; that reflective moment that makes you tingle in a movie.”

So check it out, this comes highly recommended for a quiet listen while in the office, after an evening out or before some shut eye. Brilliant.

Acid Girls, naturally have been on the radar ever since they started their reputable blog back in June of 2006. They have risen to stardom with some of the most blogged mixes out there. Acid Girls are heros of the music blogging world. Travelling the world to spin at parties in all of the coolest cities these guys are living the dream.

And it has come to our attention recently, that their production work has taken a turn for the better too. With recent remixes of Guns’N'Bombs and Fool’s Gold, we have noticed some quality work. Throbbing Techno inspired beats, choppy samples and big build ups make the Acid Girls tracks pretty epic listens. Their Guns’N'Bombs remix especially is a big hands in the anthem with a crowd pleasing theme built in!

Currently big on our speakers are Little Dragon. A four piece group from Sweden consisting of: Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion) and her close high-school friends Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass), and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards). Currently signed to the Peacefrog label, the crew have been making huge steps forward in the last couple of years.

With stunning vocals and beautiful melodies, this band are currently well on top of the quaint style that is filling our airwaves right now. Sounds resonating the styles of Fever Ray and Lamb seem to be the up and coming thing right now and Little Dragon have nailed it. Fresh sounding and very tight we highly recommend a listen. “Twice” and “Blinking Pigs” are our pick of the bunch but do give their albums: “Little Dragon” and “Machine Dreams” a couple of run throughs to fully appreciate.

You’ll also be glad to hear there are one or two remixes out there, in the ether, knocking about. Our favourite being that from a perhaps unlikely source: 16bit. Renowned for their frankly, ear wrenching basslines and relentless fierceness on the dubstep scene; 16bit have turned in a thoroughly subtle mix of the Little Dragon hit that aplifies, in more than one way, the best bits of the track.

Not ones to moan, but MNUVRS had to make a stand. This post will actually give more press to the recent collab between electro diva Geutta and Fools Gold boy Cudi, but my point is…REALLY! ARE YOU KIDDING US!? Another monotonous uninspiring track…made out into something “original” – CUDI ! What are you doing!?!?!
